Instead of taking Al’s alternative Universe on it, let’s see what the real world has to say…

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-56099523

“Facebook has blocked Australian users from sharing or viewing news content on the platform, causing much alarm over public access to key information.

It comes in response to a proposed law which would make tech giants pay for news content on their platforms.

Australians on Thursday woke up to find that Facebook pages of all local and global news sites were unavailable."

    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/02/17/facebook-will-ban-australian-users-from-sharing-or-viewing-news.html

Aha, so Australia was trying to make Facebook PAY for the news that their subscribers post on Facebook. Well, that puts things in a different light, eh? Admittedly, they screwed up when they blocked non-profit, government, and health information, but really, would you like someone to bill you for something other people posted using your property? How would you handle that?

But in Al’s Universe, uninformed knee-jerk reactions are the norm. Goodwyn’s Law™. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8qcccZy03s

We could use a down vote button, not just for this idiot’s cartoons but for the majority of the RWNJ nonsense.

Why is FOX News banned in the U.K. and CNN isn’t?

Because, as others have mentioned, Fox news is a propaganda channel for the right wing.

Fox News broke UK broadcasting rules

Fox News pulled off the air in Britain

Fox News no longer airing in the UK

British Media Regulator Censures Fox News for Breaking Impartiality Rules

Fox News breached UK’s broadcasting rules on day of Brexit vote

How does FOX News literally get away with saying that Tucker Carlson is allowed to lie, and that his viewers should know better than to listen to him?

Do people with less education watch FOX News?

Why hasn’t OAN, One America News Network, been able to supplant FOX News even with so much support from Trump?

OAN is only seen on a few channels throughout the country because OAN is a rinky-dink undercapitalized operation. You have to have, in the highly competitive United States, more than a few cable outlets carrying your content in order to have clout, ergo no numbers. Think of it like the chicken and the egg.

Conversely, FOX was highly capitalized, and founded by one of the richest media wizards in the world, one Rupert Murdoch.

I don’t “use” Facebook – ‘never thought it necessary – but if you r-e-a-l-l-y need to know, I had a hard-boiled egg and a bowl of cereal for breakfast – Rice Chex in 2% milk, and a cuppa tea. I’m terribly sorry, I forgot to post a picture of it.

As for news, I often read the Christian Science Monitor – IMHO a wacko religion (pardon the oxymoron) – but seemingly UNBIASED in their news department. It’s online now: https://www.csmonitor.com/

All Sides media bias is rated on the following chart – if I read an article from an unfamiliar source, I refer to it:https://www.allsides.com/media-bias/media-bias-ratings

    I also listen to NPR all day . . . it’s left-leaning, but so am I.

Most of Al’s toons are conservative/republican/regressive/far right-wing projection, or mirror image of what is happening. Sometimes a very warped mirror image.

Had Facebook, did not like it long ago. Tried to get rid of it but that is much harder than it should be. Never use it, but it won’t go away like other apps that I never used. Just ignore it now.

News needs journalistic integrity before I trust it. So that leaves out social media mostly and all right wing stations and far left wing stations.

Australian’s are smarter than Americans. According to an Australian recently, and it makes sense to me, they tossed Trump and his casino proposal out in 1986, because of his questionable character, mafia association, and lack of proper financing.
