It has already been repeatedly explained (including by Texas power grid managers) Wind and solar only account for 13% of Texas’ source of power and that much of the problem was from frozen controls of coal and nuclear plants. 88% of electric power in Texas is provided by natural gas and coal power; 7% by wind. The remainder by solar or nuclear. As this article in the Texas Tribune succinctly puts it: “Texas is a gas state…”
