The problem is not liberals’ incivility upon the death of someone like Limbaugh. The problem is people like Limbaugh are treated with too much deference and respect when they were alive and after they are dead.
Too few people called out Limbaugh and Trump for the lethal recklessness of their COVID behavior. For their yelling, singing, breathing and coughing on each other, then going forth to infect innocent neighbors, relatives, teachers, students and health care workers: For their depraved indifference to human life.
Too few people plainly said how much blood they have on their hands.
I love all the deflection going on here, and it’s exactly what I expected to see. Any time there’s a cartoon about a Democrat doing something egregious, all I see is, “Yeah, but Trump was so much worse.” I agree that Trump was horrid, and I’m glad to see him gone, but Cuomo’s handling of the nursing home situation was horrendous, and I wish more people would admit that rather than focusing on Trump. Think about if Trump had never been president and had done all the horrible things he did. What would your reaction have been to what Cuomo did? I’ll bet it would have been much worse.
