My teacher in 7th grade once was trying to remember the name of Uptown Funk, and she knew it had “funk” in the title. So I suggested “Funkytown” and the person next to me chewed me out and called me old (even though we were both in 7th grade). In my defense, I told him it was used in Shrek 2.
My earworms tend to be classical, 3rd movement of Beethoven’s 5th symphony; Viernes’s 3rd symphony for organ, any segment of the 1812, but particularly the defense of Moscow. Oh, and most John Williams movie scores.
Among commercials, this one stands alone. Some of you West Coasters will hate me for this, just when you finally thought you got this song out of your head:

I feel like we’re being invited to provide examples, but I can’t guarantee either catchiness, or tolerability.

I just assumed a worm learns to talk by being cursed by a unicorn.

Music from certain video games can also be earworms. Some people actually upload music to play for 10 hours!

The only REAL cure for earworms it to cultivate so many of them that they drown each other out.

I didn’t think a magical creature being able to talk would be a big deal in a world with Marigold in it anyway.

… unfortunately Uptown Funk is annoying, fortunately not as much of an earworm as Hollaback Girl or Happy.
