The most interesting thing about this allegation is that not one single critic has offered a solution as to what they would have done. Not one. Not even Clay. But then we all know what they say about hindsight.
First, they denied that there was a virus. Then, they claimed that it was ‘the flu’.Then they denied that it was a pandemic. Then, they put an idiot in as “virus czar”.Now, they are screaming because some one listed deaths in the wrong column. Republican Hypocrite is redundant.
Lots of things went wrong (and continue to) while dealing with a new pandemic. On balance Cuomo probably did no worse than many others and far better than some in dealing with it. But a good democrat scandal, real or imagined.. is never something Republicans will pass up.
Clay, I know you have the next several days already done (thank you for sharing on the website) but could we ask for a ’toon that shows an evil gasbag covering the planet taking one last wheezing self-inflicted cancerous breath and then going away as the whole earth gets a little brighter?
My father is 98 years old and lives in an assisted living community here in South Carolina. One whose headquarters is based in Newton Mass. When the seriousness of Covid was beginning to be recognized a year ago they went immediately into serious disease mode. At first visitors were limited and had to be vetted by the in house nurse before being allowed to visit their family members then shortly after they went into full lock down and no visitors were permitted at all. A year later and my father’s community has a very good record, only 2 staff members have been tested positive and none of the residents have had covid. (My father just received his second shot last Sunday.) Anytime a resident had to leave to community, for a doctor appointment or other necessary reason they were put under quarantine until they were tested and proven negative (after about 2 weeks). Other communities from other companies did not fare so well here in S.C., only 40 miles away a community has had over 100 cases (staff and residents) and over a dozen fatalities that are covid related. They went several months into the pandemic before they followed what my father’s community had done immediately. I know of one community closer to home that didn’t go into full lockdown until the beginning of Autumn and then only after a DHEC inspection. I am happy my Father is in a community that is part of the 5 Star corporation and that they did such a good job in caring for their residents. It is very obvious that some of the institutions that offer Senior Care did not do anywhere near the job that it was their moral responsibility to do. Everyone has heard the horror stories of the very bad Senior Care facilities. (As a side note I retired as Maintenance Director from my fathers community last February, just in time it seems). cont

I never liked Cuomo. He isn’t ¼ of the man his father was. This, too, will help the Obese Orange-utan beat the raps he’s facing.

When the republikkkans get caught cheating, stealing, lying, they immediately look for a democrat to play what-about-himism.

The right-wing is spinning this into a mountain because if they don’t Cuomo will be a force in anti-republican political demise for years.
