I always sympathize with Lucy in these strips.

And so, Schroeder learned to love someone in addition to his craft of music… Unfortunately for Lucy, that someone was Violet. Lucy would later set Schroeder’s piano on fire.

Sometimes you have to wonder why Schoder allows Lucy to come over…

I don’t think so. The only love he needs is his precious piano.

I would say Lucy’s love is unrequited except for the fact it’s not quiet at all.
