I bet there are some millennials who would have the same reaction as the dog did!

The deer in my neighborhood need to emulate this dog. I drive less than 20 MPH for three blocks before I get out of the sub-division because of their kamikaze behavior.

About a year ago, I actually hit a small one. I spotted her running to the left of my car and began to ease down on the brakes. She darted in front of me and was knocked head-over-heels, somersaulting into the yard to the right of the car.

I got out and saw that the vehicle had zero damage. But the deer was still lying as if dead, unmoving. But when I took two steps in her direction, she raised her head, stared me in the eye, scrambled to her feet, and bounded away.

A day or two later, I thought the deer community had come for revenge.

When I came back from the grocery, there were EIGHT deer standing in my driveway. They were fearless of the car and wouldn’t move until I blew the horn at them. Then, they casually sauntered into the woods behind the house.

Thomas, Gordon and Percy might be coming through this Green Tree Road scene…. or the illusive train Engine 1532 that’s been stalled in Southampton, Ontario!

I lived in a small town with a liquor store that closed at 11 p.m. Also at 11 p.m. a freight train ran behind the liquor store cutting it off from half the town. There were no lights or crossing gates so if you didn’t beat the train you didn’t get your booze especially on a Saturday night because there were blue laws and the liquor stores were closed on Sundays and Monday holidays. At least three or four times a year someone didn’t make it and they were clipped by the train.

I have a path under the tracks. Big enough for my pickup, if I clean it out a bit. Dog loves it!

Some dogs are ridiculously skittish. I’ve seen a full-grown dog freaked out by a new throw rug.

Not only is this a cute gag, but I think it’s a nice piece of art as well. Good job Harry.

I’d look at these even without captions, just for the work he puts into the sketches.

I’ve seen that look of reluctance on my dogs’ faces when they’re not quite sure. They’d like to trust but maybe not right now.
