Maybe that was the plan, but for my part, you get the honor you earned. That one in the red tie wouldn’t recognize “honorable” if it walked up and kicked him in the (you know what).

Originally, at least since I’ve known what was going on, there was Washington’s Birthday, Feb 22, and Lincoln’s Birthday, Feb 12, as federal holidays. Southern states refused to honor Lincoln’s Birthday, so a “compromise” was set and they called it Presidents’ Day, a combined holiday, and some people carry Confederate flags and “honor” rebellion and insurrection. Some call this “progress”.

Sorry, I don’t honour that person and have never called him president by name. There was a resident in the White House for those four years for all the good that did.

My dog would love to “pay tribute” to tRump….he just needs to wear a “fire hydrant” costume!

I always thought of it as Richard Nixon Day. It was the only way he would ever be honored.

I would say “recognize” rather than honor. With that being said, I recognize T-p as the worst president in US history, and many historians agree.

There are many Presidents to honor , some how should have more honor, some best forgotten, and then there’s Trumpie the Clown, Worst President Ever !

But why? Better to drop the Day all together.

Some presidents deserve to be praised and remembered at least once a year if not more often in our thoughts (along the lines of “Well, I know what President ________ would have done” with a smile and some pride). Some need to be added to a list of those who school children couldn’t name if you offered them a hundred dollar bill or even a stack of hundreds. The Mango Menance is at the head of list #2 and never will be in the 1st group

We show honor to the Presidents that deserve honor. We recognize those who ruined our nation, without honoring them. Let me rephrase that, those of us with common sense recognize those who ruined our nation without honoring them, while those who can’t think for themselves, would honor them.

In days of old trump would have been “honored” with tar and feathers.

It’s scary how many people still worship the man and believe he was the greatest president in history.

Last year, Trumpers where I work insisted that President’s Day be renamed “Trump’s Day” because he was the current President. This year I asked them if President’s Day should be “Biden’s Day” because Biden was the current President… they replied “no way – we shouldn’t cancel tradition!”

Presidents Day was created to honor Washington and Jefferson. They combined the two so they could make room for MLK Day.

Trump wants to have his own special day, separate from the so called “losers”, in his mind. Trump Incarceration Day has a nice ring to it.

Presidents’ Day was established before anyone could have imagined Trump being a president. If they’d known what was coming, they’d have been a little more careful in specifying who could be honored — like “all presidents who haven’t incited insurrection.”
