Interesting…..you did notice that Marx was only taking some characters from Eden….they tried to break apart Chic and Kirby. Apparently only one of them was in the comic. So this raises a question. 32 characters and a crap load of others not in the book. If you go back…..do they die as they were not part of the original comic?? The greater good is rearing it’s ugly head again. I am suspicious of their motives.

Ah, now we know how many characters are in the comic book. The book that Marx left in the same facility where Marx doped the biosuit plastic to give the suits dimensional properties, and protect users from the Grexing Effect. Which of course they needed to see the comic in the first place. What is that scamp up to? The book is a collection list, I guess.

Wally: “Hell with all that. If you’d kept the comic in its original plastic, you could have sold it for a fortune on EBay.”

Grammar notes: “Effect” is the noun, “Affect” is the verb.

    Sorry. Old school teacher here.

Should be “affected”, not “effected.” Affect in this usage is a verb. Effect is always a noun. Sorry.

And some of the “chosen ones” have passed on – I think I remember seeing Allie in the book?

Okay, statistically that is pretty slim. That’s like blowing up a casino and having a Straight Flush land in front of you from the debris raining down from the sky.

Am I the only one that doesn’t want the anthros to be human again? I want Wally to stay Wally, Duffy to stay Duffy, etc. etc.

This is a reference to a short-lived strip Aaron did about Jacob Jackrabbit. Although a character named “Jacob Jackrabbit” was prominent in earlier Endtown stories and they looked (and acted) the same they are NOT (according to Aaron) the same character.

Remember that Amesworth told Wally that the anthros tend to have lifespans appropriate to the animals they resemble. That would be a good reason to want to return to being human. Not so much of a problem for Alan, but not many cats live for 20 years. Although who knows, cardoodle clones may live longer.

Then again, we know that anthros heal very quickly, and that Sarah no longer had cancer after going anthro. So what, besides extreme violence, kills anthros?

Were Duffy and his brother and Alan among that 7? Amesworth recognized that Wally, Duffy and Alan were all cardoodle clones when she saw them arguing on the beach.

Allie is dead, Holly is missing. Is that pig Portia’s brother?

Is it me or does one look ticked off and the other nonchalant? Or am I reading too much into it?

32 characters, the found seven doubles and they’re looking at six more (counting Benny and Holly), and we know about a couple others like Allie. If the advert from 12/25/20 is anything to go by, we’ve also seen “expys” for Irving, Heather, Petey, and I think Kirbee (the hillbilly lizard there would translate from hippy dippy lizard through the lens of the 1950s pretty well). That’s 18. I wonder who the other 14 could be, if anyone? Several from the advert don’t have equivalents I can think of: the hunter, two birds of some sort, and two dogs in military kit who aren’t Duffy and Bennie.

And while going back over old pages, I’ve started to notice just how much more like his four-colour equivalent Wally’s become in the last couple years. Cracked indeed.

(Also must note: interesting positioning for our Topsider friend there in panel one, particularly with what we know is going on else-compound…)

    More thoughts.

If they’re looking for “doubles,” what about Unity?

Also, given that most Topsiders have been killing anthros willie-nillie since the inception of this comic, do we know if the other key doubles still exist?
