Georgia DA opens criminal probe of Trump call urging secretary of state to find votes
The top prosecutor in Fulton County, Georgia, has opened a criminal investigation of a phone call to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger by then-President Donald Trump, who last month urged the official to “find” him enough votes to overturn his election loss to Joe Biden.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis sent a letter to Raffensperger and other state government officials asking that they preserve documents related to Trump’s highly unusual call, a state official with knowledge of the letter told NBC News.
Conservatives are licking their chops, anticipating a new precedent: you can get away with anything as long as you leave the job before the courts have time to try you…
Many people think that Trump first became a traitor when he incited the bloody attack on our democracy on January 6th. They, of course, are wrong. Other people think that Trump first became a traitor at Helsinki. They are also wrong. Trump FIRST became a traitor waaaaay back in 2016, when he conspired with our enemy, and his owner, the Russian dictator and war criminal, one Vladimir Putin.
In Li’l Donnie’s first impeachment farce, it was obvious ahead of time that most if not all of the Republican Senators would violate their oaths of office. Obviously, no intelligent person would ever think that the treacherous toadies, Moscow Mitch and Leningrad Lindsey were capable of honesty and patriotism. Nor the future Seditionist Senators, the worthless contemptible Josh Hawley and the worthless contemptible Teddy Baboon Cruz. But I was hoping some Republicans were, if not admirable, at least not detestable. Yet one, and one only Republican Senator was honest and patriotic. Only Mitt Romney. Any bets on whether another few might also be, this time around?
Never should have left Nixon off the hook like they did. It’s come back far worse and bit us all in the derrière. There’s a lesson there and the Republicans need to heed it or next time it’ll be worse. And there will be a next time as sure as the sun rises in the east.
If we put this in basketball terms, there’d be no more discussion. Everyone knows that if someone fouls you before the final buzzer goes off, you still get your shots from the foul line after time runs out…
McConnell’s dance should always be front and center. He refused to start the trial while he was majority leader. He only stopped being majority leader when Trump stopped being president. Now his story is that you can’t try a president once he’s out of office. Isn’t that convenient.
A lot of these from non-right cartoonists today and yesterday. All well deserved, it appears… though I hope/wish that another dozen GOP Senators will recall their morals and oath of office.
While the nation’s attention is quite properly focused on the insurrection and subsequent impeachment, let’s keep things in proportion. “Only” 5 people died in the assault on the Capitol (not counting the 2 officers who subsequently committed suicide). By comparison, we all know who’s responsible for today’s …

Lying coward republicans won’t even look at the evidence.
Paul, Rubio, Scott, Cotton, all found something else to do as the insurrectionist video played.

Fake cartoon.
Trump still claims that he is still President, aka that he still “works” there.
And it doesn’t appear that he would be willing to abandon that claim, not even if it could save him from a prison sentence.

Trump must have some information that he can use them to enforce the GOP’s loyalty to him.
