Evolution interrupted.

If their arms got longer they would have become legs which is not necessarily and improvement. In the end though, they became wings which seems to have work out rather well.

Well thanks for spoiling it for me!

Truth is, If that meteor caused all large animals to extinction evolution would not have enough time to change them to chicken.

Quick, use them to say goodbye.

Hate to burst your bubble (and the meteor notwithstanding), but evolution will bring long, mighty limbs (a) to your descendants if (b) there is an evolution-driven need for them. You guys are out of luck.

This does not bode well for the continuation of the strip!
