This is what we’ve come to? I’m not in favor of standards for being in Congress, but there are standards for being a rational human being. If democracy is going to work, citizens have to have a certain level of knowledge and decency.

Frankly, if a person can’t pass a security clearance before they run for office, they shouldn’t be allowed one just because they won an election.

Seems like Congress has become the preferred choice for many individuals that really belong in mental institutions instead. The padded cell crowd knows you can’t beat the benefits and the freedom. If you can’t really function in society go into politics.
