Reminds me of when my dad tried to teach me how to cook on a grill. It all went over my head.

Jigsaw puzzles are really fun. Gracie should like them as they are good for cognitive thinking.

1000/1500, no problem! 5000 piece got me. That sucker was 40 × 60 inches and used a whole dining table! Still have it, only tried it once.

My wife and two daughters used to love doing big puzzles together when the daughters were young. But by Gracie’s age, maybe a little later, they did start to move away from it.

Jigsaw puzzle manufacturers are one of the industries that have done well in the pandemic. Some quality family time generated by putting them together… And the occasional fight.

We do 5-6 per week, 200+ since last April. Then donate them to assisted living communities in town. They have kept us sane.

Always good to have a pair of nippers nearby when you find a piece that the factory cut wrong and you just KNOW it’s supposed to fit there.

I’d suggest my wife to assist, but she works solo on puzzles.

I have a computer puzzle maker. I load pictures into it and enjoy remembering the times the pictures were taken while putting them together.

We always did jigsaws when I was a kid (great for lockdown activities, too!), and we loved it.

He should be smiling in the last panel. Sneaky but satisfying.

Or maybe he is disappointed that they hate it so much they would rather clean their rooms. He may have genuinely wanted some family time.

I have one 1000 piece puzzle in January, and have a new, unopened 1000 piece puzzle waiting its turn. This second one is called “Sanitize and Sterilize Post-COVID Series”. It looks like the contents of a janitor’s closet.

File that away for future reference. To get his children to clean their rooms, ask them to put together a jigsaw puzzle.
