I guess he’s a follower of Dick Butkus. Butkus once bit someone in a fumble pile & even called time outs when the Bears were beating the Lions in the final two minutes, just because he wanted to bang into the Lions’ center he hated a couple of more times.
Reminds me of going to Bruins’ games in the late 70s, and so many of the regulars constantly booed Peter McNab, a big guy who didn’t — in their opinion, anyway — hit enough. (That he averaged 40 goals a season for the better part of a decade didn’t seem to attract their notice.) “Hit him wid yer purse, Mary!” was the standard cry of one cementheaded wag.
I am by no means an L.A. Lambs fan but I really think that they now have a genuine shot at a Super Bowl Championship in 2021. I wasn’t a cryin’ Lion fan either, but I’m so glad to see a talented young QB like Matt Stafford finally get to play with a decent team and show the world what he really can do when he’s got a good OLine and decent receivers and excellent coaches. Win, win for LA, and as always, lose, lose for Detroit.
