I have had that thought. Personally would prefer that the stimulus checks go only to those whose current income is less than some reasonable maximum, so it will most probably be spent quickly. On the other hand, I’m also very much in favor of having a check into everybody’s hands in the next few days because now beats perfect every time.

That must be why Repukelicans are dragging their heels on aid for the less affluent. They’re waiting (and hoping) for more poor people to die.

Have you noticed that since a Democrat is now in the oval, the republicans are, all of a sudden, budget deficit hawks!!

    Funny that!!

Though it was promoted in Georgia as $2000 cheques, but whatever works electorally, right?

I have no problem with the amount. I have a problem with who gets it. I am retired and on a teacher’s pension. My income has not dropped in the slightest. I have not suffered financially in the slightest. I have gotten the past stimulus checks and apparently would get the next one too. That does not make sense. There has to be a better way of focusing the money on the people who really need it.

Biden is encouraging the $1400, not questioning it.

Monthly checks are needed until the pandemic is really over as well as protection against foreclosures and being evicted from apartments. As much aid as the feds provided after the 2008 meltdown, economists say that not enough was done and the economy would have bounced back quicker if more had been provided and there had been a moratorium on foreclosures.

Its been 5 days, why aren’t our problems solved yet?

Will Biden get ANY cooperation from the totally partisan anti democracy republicans?

Isn’t it odd to have a Democrat President who is concerned about paying for things? It sure was odd having a Republican President who wasn’t concerned, along with his Republican enablers…

Biden wants to raise the amount of stimulus checks. Another Rall lie.

I got two $600 socialist payouts from the republicans during 2020.

It does not buy my forgiveness for them murdering 400,000 Americans with a preventable disease and crashing the economy. The Trump admin ended with 2 million less jobs than it inherited from Obama’s economy, a total failure on every count.
