Hey cat…you know that the alternative is to starve dont you?

The good news is that I got signed up at our Community Center for the vaccine.

The bad news is that it will probably be March before they get to me. They are starting with age 100 to 90. Then 75 to 89, etc. My daughter and SIL signed up too, they are looking at the first of June.

The alternative is getting it at the grocery store or the Convention Center where it isn’t safe. I’m not standing in line for 4 hours surrounded by hundreds of people.

Today is:

National Pie Day

National Handwriting Day. It’s a shame cursive handwriting is becoming a lost art since the schools don’t teach it any more.

So, I decided to take some paid time off in January. I had around 120 hours of paid time off coming and I can only carry over 80 hours into February. Walmart would buy out any hours over the 80. That would have made a nice big fat paycheck, but I wanted to use the hours instead because I like staying at home and being paid for it. So, I requested (and was approved) two paid days off a week for the last 3 weeks of January. With my 2 regular unpaid days (think “weekend” days) I am only working 3 days a week for these 3 weeks (and being paid for 5 days). My other thought when making this request was that by working only 3 days a week, there would be a much better chance of any snowstorms we get falling on my days off instead of my work days. But it hasn’t been working that way. It keeps snowing on my work days! Luckily, it hasn’t been any significant snowfalls – just a couple inches so driving has not been a big problem. Well, it’s my day off today and it’s supposed to snow later in the afternoon right up through Sunday morning when I have to go to work. So, I might have a dicey drive to work Sunday morning. I’ll be off on Monday through Wednesday – no snow in the forecast for those days. We’ve actually been lucky so far this winter as temperature goes. It’s been pretty mild. Not right now, though, Single digits tonight and into Saturday morning. Brrrrrrrrr!

Chesney, you are purblind. You just don’t know how good your life is with Annie to care for you.

For all his complaining about the food, Chesney seems pretty healthy to me.

Chesney thinks Annie has a surly attitude? Look who’s talking! On another note, saw a squirrel and two varied thrushes while out walking today.

I had a Brown Thrasher and later a Eastern Towhee on my feeder near the window today. They are not rare, but I don’t see them all that often.
