We should first take all the refugee children out of their cages and begin attempting to find out where their families are.

But yes, after that, we need to tear down the tiny bits of useless wall that haven’t already fallen down on their own. We should cut military spending until it’s closer to the military spending of every other world power. Then we can take the surplus and feed it into the health and education industrial complex!

Then we can begin programs which take some funds currently allocated to police and divert them to auxiliary programs to train mental health and social workers to take some of the non-police work off the workload of the police.

And we also need to re-establish a functional EPA so we can put proper environmental regulations back in place.

The 46th administration certainly does have its work cut out for them!

Right after the inauguration, Biden has said what he’ll do first. Rejoin the Paris agreement, stop the pipeline and a few other “undo the idiocy” moves that won’t take legislative action. Biden’s traditionally been in favor of way too much armed forces, so if he does push for some reform, it won’t be first.

PS: M Summers: The Feds really don’t have much to do with (de)funding the police. That’s a much more local option.

Dana must be unaware, as usual, or just lying, as usual, but Police Funding is under state/city control, not under Federal control.. Neither the President, nor the Congress, nor the Supreme Court has any authority to pass any laws to “defund the police”.

No, but families of mentally ill children will be relieved to find that police won’t be tazing or shooting them. Huzzah for C.I.T. training.

With how many off duty police involved in the Capital riot, I think a little police reform is definitely in order. Few, if really any, want to actually defund the police. OK, Republicans wanted to years ago, but that’s because they wanted to privatize police departments to make them a for profit, but still paid for by American Taxpayers scheme.
