If only we could take them over to Working Daze and stuff them into that alternate reality (which their minds seem to be occupying already anyway).

There is a difference between ‘standing your ground’ and being ‘offensive’.

Rep. Lauren Boebert. For people who liked Sarah Palin but thought she was too intellectual.

All 147 members of the “Sedition Caucus” need to be ejected from Congress and forbidden to run again under the 14th Amendment. Those who knowingly supported the insurrection (e.g., giving “tours” the day before) should be arrested and jailed.

The insurrectionists need to be arrested and jailed.

The police and military people who supported and enabled the insurrection should be removed from their jobs or court-martialed and in all cases put on trial.

Supporters of #45 OVER OUR GOVERNMENT in no way require an olive branch from American citizens. They are a threat to us.

Where are the lying deadly anti-democracy Maga assassins anyway? Are they no shows? Have they decided that dying for traitor Trump who turned against them was even more stupid than they had imagined?

I don’t hear the entire country saying “let’s let bygones be bygones”. I hear Republicans saying that. They always do after they lose.

You can’t compromise with fascists. Just ask Neville Chamberlain.

Odd how alt-rights reject all evidence of their favorite officials committing gaffs and crimes – even video and audio tapes and written statements… yet “many people are saying” is more than sufficient “evidence” when it supports their agenda…

“How DO you compromise with seditionists?”

    The proper question is “WHY?”

The Democrats have always let the Republicans get away with the dubiously legal crap they pull when in office. This is possible because the Republicans cooperate by attempting to cover it up first. Once the Democrats are back in power, they have to try to accomplish something before they lose that power, and they have to try to get along with the Republicans who are still in the Senate and HofR in order to do that. No Republican is innocent, even those who just went along to get along. And, the Democrats realize that showcasing governmental misconduct does not inspire confidence in the government, either from American voters or from the world as a whole.

Trump and he supporters are a whole different situation. First, there is nothing remotely dubious about whether their activities are illegal. Second, Trump not only doesn’t attempt to cover them up, he announces them on television, on tape. Of course, they probably are covering some things up, which is mind boggling, since what Trump brags about it mind bogglingly awful.

At any rate, the Democrats are put in the position of being unable to ignore the Republican’s illegal activities. If they do, they align themselves with the “go along to get along” crowd. That undermines any remaining confidence in our entire government, and creates a situation is much worse for our country than the results of letting those who are responsible for the mess we are currently in get what they deserve.

Having been in quite a few peaceful protests in my life, I can testify that between the noise, the signs and the general disorganization, no one knows what is going on more than about 20 feet away from them. Whether if is BLM or attacking the Capitol, I am sure that there were plenty of people who were just peacefully protesting with no idea that windows were being broken and items being stolen less than a block away from them. And, those people aren’t guilty of or responsible for what other people did. We need to prosecute the actual criminals to the fullest extent of the law, but acknowledge that most of them weren’t guilty of anything. Stupid and gullible, maybe, but if that was illegal, we couldn’t build enough jails.

I haven’t seen this sentiment other than from Trump voters, who aren’t completely right-wing populists. I think that old song won’t be playing this time.
