Yup.. trump did make America great.. didn’t he? Never so divided, never so many virtual walls and now even razor wire around your capital. MAGA indeed.
From the 1st presidency in 1789 through 2020, the U.S. has transitioned peacefully from one president to the next regardless of political affiliation. Regardless of the disappointment of people that their candidate did not win. Along with his total failure at handling COVFEFE-45, President Donald J. Trump will go down in the history books for his assaults on democracy.
This is what happens when many do not realize the basket of deplorables can be opinionated by lies told over and over by those that are supposed to be our leaders. They can join with a radicalized to form a mob with or without clear intent. Many of the peaceful protesters have heard these lies so many times that nothing you can say will change their beliefs. Tell them the truth over and over again for a few years may help. I said may.
It will be so nice to have an adult for a president. I’m sure Joe Biden has some regrets about how the inauguration will be different this year, but he’s focused on the job of serving the American people, not seeing how many people show up or trying to outdo anyone else. What a breath of fresh air, to have a leader who cares about the country, not himself!
I was hoping for a parade, The Marine Corps Band, a 21 gun salute, a red carpet, former Presidents and First Ladies, thousands of people in attendance , a military fly-over led by Air Force One.
We get thousands of National Guard troops with loaded guns, more TV cameras that people attending and the current President and First Lady using Air Force One in the morning to leave town. Glad we won’t have a White Nationalist as President for another 4 years.
Trump said he was supporting a peaceful transfer of power, so it must be so. Common, when has Trump ever lied about anything?
OK, to be fair, perhaps it might be easier to list how often he hasn’t lied about something. Granted, even then, he usually turns around an lies about that right away, so I’m not sure it counts.
Used to be, we could pretty much count on at most one lone (and crazy) assassin at a time. Too bad about the escalation from the right wingnuts. Now the crazies are coming out in droves.
It’s sad how things have taken such a downward turn. However, I trust that they will do everything possible to keep everyone safe from the lunatics on the big day.

Round them all up, and LOCK THEM UP. I’m speaking of the traitors that stormed the Capitol and the lawmakers that enabled them.

Due to the vicious lying armed unAmerican republican traitor brats, Biden needs 25,000 troops to protect his life.

His (#45) off handed rhetoric brought all those shadow people out from under their rocks and out of the woodwork. Shameful, degrading POS president.

Trump certainly ruined that, along with everything else.

And the FoxNews spin is “ Left is turning DC into a militarized zone!”. Ignoring the fact that Trump’s crazed supporters made it necessary.

I am glad now that i moved to Nevada when I did. It’s a lot further away from DC than where I was. Still thinking that i’m too close…

Now everyone in the USA gets a taste of what it’s like to live in Baghdad, or Kabul, maybe? Poetic?

Me too, I actually had a glimmering of an unfamiliar sensation when I heard Biden speak. If I remember correctly it was called hope.
