As one who has constructed his share of dog houses, I must say that is one poorly made dog house. I built dog houses that were designed to be flipped over to aid in cleaning. Evidently, cleaning is not an option for this house. Any suggestions for the new dog house design?
Meanwhile the truant officers are now after Marcie and Peppermint Patty, but not the beagle, who has enough problems digging his way out from his destroyed and underinsured house.
When was the storyline when Peppermint Patty accidentally enrolled in a dog obedience school and eventually ended up in a fight with the cat next door? It must have been before this since the plot depended on her still not realising that Snoopy was a dog, but I don’t think it has run ever since Schulz died and the reruns started.
Just noticed in the last panel that Snoopy has a voice balloon and not a thought bubble so me must be speaking in canine, i.e. barking, rather than thinking his speech as he often does.
I didn’t know about this storyline. It’s too bad that no one called Patty out on her nonsense months ago. Kudos to Marcie for bringing in truth and sense, albeit harshly. This wonderfully analogous to the harm and drama adults will cause themselves and their connections when they are in denial about personality disorders, depression, eating disorders, or substance abuse; when they refuse to recognize how “taking back” a lover excuses abuse and endangers children; when they are blind to their selfishness, manipulation, and passive aggression; and so forth.

At least in cartoon-land, it is possible to have reality-deniers have an “uh-oh” moment.

I’ve always wondered why Marcie didn’t say “He’s a DOG!” Was the specification of race really that relevant at the time?

“That’s odd. I always thought beagles were a type of bird and a symbol of the United States. Snoopy doesn’t have feathers.”

I think this could be too much reality in one day for PP. She always struck me as a bit of a dreamer, like Snoopy

Marcie just gave Peppermint Patty a dose of reality. As if telling her the man in the red suit does not exist.
