Oh this is so sad; however, unfortunately, I knew many young women of my age bracket who had parents who would and did support Patty’s position. Daughters were to be taught to keep house, cook, keep a husband “happy” raise children and remain in the background. Married off to a ‘nice young man of good family,’ These girls grew up to be widows who cannot balance a check book, drive an automobile or fill out simple documentation for a doctor, or pharmacist. Most curse their deceased spouse for dying before them and leaving them helpless.

But you already are an accomplished lawyer.

People without an education can make it … rarely.

It’s all a matter of “loading the dice in your favor” and taking a roll. Education helps stack the dice.

Snoopy is a lot of things, but a medic ain’t one of them.

Snoopy is educated enough to write books…

You would think Snoopy would regret leaving obedience school.

Snoopy might às well go to medical school. He has done about anything else.

I’ve never once regretted not wanting to go to medical school.

I remember coming home from school one day as a kid – 7 or 8 maybe – and I had a bad day at school, I don’t even remember why. Anyway – I was done. Not going back. Got into a yelling match with my mom over it, and that just reaffirmed my position. Dad got home and sat down with me. He asked me the question whether I knew everything I wanted to know. Which was yes for right then. Then he asked about next year. Or in 10 years. Or when I needed to get a job. Ultimately I realized I didn’t really have any marketable skills yet so went back to school.

Mr Joe cool did not need education. He was born intelligent. Education would have ruined him.

Someone else provides him a place to live and feeds him daily – while he sleeps? I’d rethink the “done alright” part.

It would be sad if Marcie lost out on the school experience. Hope she has a heart to heart with her teacher……..
