If Lenin created a social network he could have enforced his Terms and Services for it. It’s likely that not many people would have liked the Terms and Services and used a different network instead.

Wasn’t Lenin an “elitist” who had utter disdain for ordinary Russians?

Another dumb cartoon. If he had a media platform in his time, he would have used it to suppress opposing views? He did have one. They were called newspapers. Conservative idiots seem to be oblivious to the fact that Russia was taken over by the violent armed revolution against the Czar, which established them as a communist country. There was no free press under the Czar, and there was no free press under communism, so what is Ramirez talking about?

One of the greatest lies that conservatives push is the idea that it is intolerance to be intolerant of their intolerance. Anyone who accepts this argument is weak willed for allowing themselves to be gaslighted.

And ironically Trump himself tweeted, “Loser Terrorists must be dealt with in a much tougher manner. the internet is their main recruitment tool which we must cut off & use better.” Sept 15, 2017. By his own stated standards for dealing with people who incite terrorist activities, he should be cut off.

How ignorant. Lenin controlled all mass communication in the Soviet Union, including national radio, the “Big Tech” of that time.

Those spreading lies and disinformation must have their accounts blocked.

Is that so hard to understand?

Twitter’s offices are still in San Francisco. There were some pro-Trump agitators at their building yesterday morning, but they were met by a larger number opposing Trump (and supporting Twitter). The confrontation ended without serious incident.

I wonder how those tech companies who’ve relocated to Texas are faring…

Trump Disciple Ramirez cannot produce a cartoon without lying directly or indirectly.

And since when do Trump Disciples give a rat’s a$$ about the first amendment?

Right wingers seem to have a real problem with the whole freedom of speech thing. Twice, actually: 1: Because there’s no freedom to use someone else’s app to say anything they don’t allow you to say (and they can even legally change the terms of service). And 2: Because even when speech is  “free” you’re not allowed to promote illegal behavior.

PS: In another thread, I saw someone purport that lies aren’t protected speech. IMO, that’s going too far. Some KINDS of lies (the kind that promote illegalities) are not protected.

Putin is offering Trump a dacha — Trump’s accepting because he thinks that’s the name of his next foreign mail-order bride.

Freedom of Speech and Freedom of The Press can be confused by even some people today as censorship. Trump needs to find a stump or a soap box to tell his followers how everyone hates him. Better yet, write a letter to any newspaper you want. You don’t get FREE advertising for your cause. Pay for a full page ad and see who will take your money. Has he tried The Stars and Stripes or maybe The Voice of America?

Twitter, Facebook and all those companies are privately owned. They have a First Amendment right to publish or not to publish someone’s opinion just like a newspaper does.

So are you against the First Amendment or not?

BTW Mike. A Trump inspired mob ransacked the Congress building. Got anything to say about that?

I believe we are seeing something similar to what happened during Pearl Harbor. Like the Emperor of Japan, The liberal democrats might soon find that “I fear we have awakened a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve.”

I believe Lenin said capitalists would sell the rope they would be hanged with. We have no shortage of rope sellers right now. I guess don’t be rope buyers? I could do better on a Wednesday than this.
