When the jackpot is $100,000, the expected return on “investment” is $zero. When the jackpot is $10,000,000, the expected return on “investment” is $zero. Same for $100,000,000 or $800,000,000 or $1.1 billion.
Might as well.. that 600 ain’t nearly enough to make a difference. The guys that write those checks spend that much on drinks or a quickie every afternoon.
Back in the day when I would buy one ticket when the jackpot was over $200,000,000.00 it was a cheap daydream. Then I only had to walk across the street to the quickie mart, now I would have to go at least half a mile to buy a ticket – not worth the effort.

Where “$zero” is “less than a penny”. (MUCH less)

Much better odds of being hit by lightening but, hey, dropping a buck can’t hurt.

Sadly, winning the lottery is the only retirement plan that too many dullards have…

I’m so glad you little people are getting $600. That more than balances out my tax break of $600,000 this year.

We got ours in the form of a little credit card thing. At least it doesn’t have trump’s signature on it.
