Better yet, get the hell out to one of the first world countries BEFORE you do University, because most of them offer a university education for reduced cost, sometimes even offering a small stipend as long as you’re doing well there.

Good plan, especially the escape part. Didn’t think of the international marry part before, but it’s worth a shot.

Wondering how long it’s going to be before the “Marry a Canadian” website is brought back.

“Marry her” would probably be the apt imperative, but couldn’t it just as likely be “Marry him,” particularly 10 or so years down the road? True progress entails lots and lots of unrestricted options.

I have a great life here (in the U.S.), but I often wish we had taken the opportunity to move to Sweden when it presented itself. We stayed because of family.

Believe me, there have been times in the last few years I have considered getting out, but with all my tech skills, I am considered too old to emigrate.

    Krugman’s four rules for Biden:

Rule #1: Don’t doubt the power of government to help.

Rule #2: Don’t obsess about debt.

Rule #3: Don’t worry about inflation.

Rule #4: Don’t count on Republicans to help govern.

The kid’s other choice is to elect Democrats and help the US to become a first world country again.

Haven’t heard anybody say that is their new American dream… and it makes no sense. Why go to all the time and trouble to work hard in Zoom school, go to college and rack up a bunch of debt, when you could jump straight to marrying a foreigner in order to get a foreign passport so you could leave the country? If Trump hadn’t so weakly responded to the pandemic then you wouldn’t even need that foreign passport in order to be accepted into another country from America…

..and when you get to another country, be like the locals. Not brash, loud, Americans.

Forbes (magazine) has advised companies that they should not hire communications people (I heard “anyone”) who had worked for Trump, and that any information coming from companies that have an ex-Trump employee on their payroll will be regarded as a lie.
