I’m sure they don’t have any bait on their hooks.

Remember a friend telling me of an incidence he had while sitting and relaxing in his little boat. He had a pole showing and a line in the water. Game warden came by and asked for his fishing license. My friend told him he didn’t need one cuz he wasn’t fishing. Game warden scoffed and presented him with a fine.

Since he had the time, and requiring the game warden to show up to testify, he allowed it to go to court. He explained to the judge that he enjoyed the sun and peacefulness of just relaxing in his boat, but he let a weighted line, minus hook or bait, dangle in the water so’s others wouldn’t think him weird. But the game warden just handed him the ticket without giving him a chance to explain.

The judge asked the officer if he checked the line to see if it had a hook. Apparently, the judge gave that game warden some royal dressing down for wasting everyone’s, and the court’s, time

Good luck with the flies, mosquitos and sunburn. Fishin’ needs a cigar and sunscreen.

I admit that most of the time I went fishing, it was to get away from everything and everyone, and enjoy the peace and solitude. I really didn’t care if I caught a fish or didn’t.

There’s a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot and fishermen are born honest, but then they get over it.
