Actually, judging from fantasy literature going back thousands of years, it’s all people can do to keep from thinking of it

Oh, people have THOUGHT of it. They just haven’t figured out how to make it happen yet. Once, when I was a kid, I had a dream that someone reached out of the TV and shook my hand. Or was it a photo? That’s what Adam will be wanting next. Reach into a photo to get what you want.

Another small hiccup will probably be economics (the main reason we’re not all using rocket belts and personal aircars)

Thinking of it is the easy part. I thought of E books on small CD’s when fishing locators came out with liquid crystal screens. I thought of maps you could read on a screen in your car. But execution…there’s the thing. Or getting a company to listen to an outside idea…_that’s a whole ’nother thing.

I’ve see crazier ideas. However, Star Trek did have the “Replicator” which was pretty close…..

A Kindle innovation that I’m still waiting for is YouTube links or embeds within the text. Any subject, but particularly non-fiction, could be greatly enhanced at critical passages by quick glimpses into the treasure trove available there.
