CHRISTmas is still there, still being celebrated.

SOME of us understand that by suffering the absence of our family this holiday we are helping prevent the suffering from *permanent" absence of family for some families (maybe even our own). It IS hard. But it’s not impossible, and it IS the right thing to do. As anyone can see if they don’t have an ego that’s too fragile to stand up by itself.

Give the best Christmas gift you can. Follow the medical science, mask up, isolate, and give life to others, and maybe yourself too.

I take it the resemblance between Scrooge and Moscow Mitch is intentional … that’s the point, right?

Now I realize that the Resurrection is the central point of Christian Religions. But think about it. God decided to join our club. That’s one hell of a celebrity endorsement!

COVID has changed the way we must observe the holidays but it hasn’t stopped Lexus and Mercedes from advertising their uber expensive cars as Christmas presents. Gee maybe I’ll buy 2 like that young couple that bought 2 SUVs. What a joke.

Not even a ghostly virus can cancel Christmas. Unless you let it. To paraphrase another Classic Christmas tale; “It hadn’t stopped Christmas. It came. Somehow or other, it came just the same.” Thank you, Dr. Seuss (and Dr. Fauci, too).

The true ‘Spirit of Christmas’ is still there. The Capitalist idea of Christmas may be taking a hit, but in my mind that ain’t too bad a thing. The modern Christmas decoration I see in stores are stickers in windows proclaiming ‘everything 50% to 70% off’!! Bah! Bloody humbug!

Denying the loss, he has become more isolated even withdrawing from the public appearances in front of cheering crowds that so fed his ego. Oscillating between depression and delusion, he concocts increasingly bizarre fringe conspiracy theories as to how he was cheated out of victory.

Some of his most loyal supporters, realizing that the end is near are distancing themselves from him in hopes of saving their own careers.

Others continue to cower to him and enable his fantasies out of fear of his wrath.

He’s turning on people who once supported him, because he deems are not doing enough for him NOW. He’s called them names, blames them for his failures and takes credit for their successes.

He’s even turned on his own party and his own people. He believes they have let him down.

With only weeks left in power, he is bent on the destruction of the nation so no one else could inherit it.

So it could have been written 85 years ago. I am, of course, talking about Adolf Hitler.
