How many times has Hobbes’s cowardice… I mean common sense saved Calvin from serious injury?

This reminds me of that one Shel Silverstein poem about the flying hippo, which had a happy end, a sad end, and a chicken end.

I’m w/ Hobbes here. Except there really does need to be a cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows (or whipped cream, your choice).

I emphatically resent this unwarranted slur on fine, upstanding, law-abiding weasels and I fully intend to write a strongly worded letter of my outrage to the editor. So there . . . !

I hereby announce the formation of the League of Sissy Weasels! There is no formal membership but people may join by such simple acts as sitting in front of a fireplace with a mug of hot chocolate.

And if we don’t try – Mr. Watterson won’t get to draw those fantastic last panels with briefly suspended in air after launching off of a cliff…

I have a friend who broke his hip skiing a couple of years ago. He has fully recovered (young guy) and was considering going downhill skiing with the first snow this year. He had second thoughts. He could avoid crowds on the slopes … but not in a hospital, if he were injured again. Worst time in history to be hospitalized. Went in from some cross-country skiing instead.

Sometimes being a sissy weasel is the best option, especially when it involves a nice warm fire on a cold snowy day.

Having broken both my legs, a combination of three different times, costing 100s of thousands of dollars, countless surgeries and enough exotic metallic hardware implanted throughout both legs to get pulled aside for additional screening whenever I fly, I have adopted the middle ground of sissy weasels.
