There was a U.S. Commerce Secretary in the 1950’s that would walk to to a counter, place a $20 bill on it and purchase some small item. If the sales person suggested anything else he would agree to purchase it, no matter what – up to twenty dollars. For instance, if he requested a pack of cigarettes ($0.35 in those days) and the sales person asked in he needed a cigarette lighter he would buy it. He related that he never lost the whole $20.
I build plastic scale models as my hobby. Little bit of every genre…airplanes, sci fi, armor, …..and I try to take it to the professional level as close as I can. My own little work shop/area, paint booth, airbrushes and all the equipment involved with them, etc etc. Point being I’ll buy a 50 dollar kit and spend 200 on all the paint, paint masks, tools, all the consumables involved just on one model sometimes. So this particular strip hit home to me….lol!
