To those screaming about their personal liberties and freedoms, WHAT ABOUT HEALTHCARE WORKERS FREEDOMS!? Maybe you should think of someone other than yourselves!!!!
The medical system would not be able to function without nurses. They can not be thanked enough for their efforts every day, much less during a pandemic.
I was a nurse and relate to what healthcare providers are going through. I get so angry at all the “no mask” people who think this is only about their personal freedom and are causing the deaths of so many others.
I’m reminded of Churchill’s words about the pilots in the Battle of Britain. To paraphrase, “Never have so many owed so much to so (relative to the country population) few”. They should be first in line for the vaccine, and all be receiving hazard pay.
@MontanaBill: The vaccines are NOT thanks to Trump and his ignorant Warp Speed. The international scientific community has been working on the virus and the treatments for it, including both therapeutics and vaccines, since January 2020. The Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine actually is from a German company headed by two Turkish immigrants. The AstraZeneca vaccine is from the Oxford group initially, developed on research into the first SARS virus and adapted from that work (which is why they were ahead of the game). So far there have been more than 80,000 publications on all this that is generally open-access to anyone in the world. The progress here is not due to any unique USA program, but to the recognition of a disease by the whole global community. This is what true multilateral cooperation can do for all of us.
A doctor in Nevada took a selfie in front of the facility that was specifically built for the pandemic. The facility was just about to be opened, so the beds were empty and some equipment was still wrapped. He praised the front-line workers and those that got the facility built so quickly.
A Trumpette in Nevada used the picture but added a false caption, claiming that the governor bragged about a “never used” facility that wasted millions. Of course Trump re-tweeted it with more garbage about the elections.

So far, it’s looking like frontline healthcare providers will be at the head of the line for a vaccine.
Unless the government cuts in line.

Though a lot of them aren’t even going home at all: Too dangerous to their families. Talk about cold, lonely, tired and indispensable!

I just wish the front line of saviours could know that most of us care deeply about them. Just knowing could help.

I can’t even imagine what this has been like for the health care workers in the front line. My heart aches for them.
