Sometimes Rerun, it’s best not to think too much.

Thank goodness Rerun isn’t named George (if y’all know what I mean).

Never mind the trees; it is rocks on the path you have to watch out for.

All that fresh air, as opposed to a 100 mile trip with both parents being smokers.

Think about life… which given Rerun’s age shouldn’t take too long…

Think about how freaking cold you must be with the wind chill factor.

Rerun is remarkably calm for someone concerned about hitting a tree, and seeing one’s life pass before his eyes.

I remember seeing Rerun comment on riding on the bike in I Want a Dog for Christmas.

This might be the first time I have seen even a hint of a physical adult. Normally we just have the kids responding to an adult.

I blame my bike ridding the boys around when they were young, to their love of everything with wheels! Oldest is ice racing (studded motorcycle tires) today at the lake. He owns half a dozen cycles that he rides on the road, it’s style according to his mood that day. He doesn’t own a bicycle, though. Younger son owns several, plus 4 wheelers, and riding mowers and even a largish blue tractor.

I think it was a Chicken Soup for the Soul – but it was a quick story about a husband and wife who liked to ride a tandem. The husband was always up front and the wife was always behind. The husband wanted to feel in control with the steering, and the wife liked deciding how hard she was going to pedal and being able to just watch the scenery. He wanted the control to prevent crashes, she like the idea that if they did crash he would represent padding for her.

Having bicycled with children both fore and aft the child behind is shielded from the wind but the child in front can see things.

The kid needs a break mom. A fresh mound of sand and castle making would be far more exciting to the poor little Rerun.
