Up until … “recently” (approximately when Newt G was in office) almost everybody understood that individual rights only extend to the point where they harm other people. Since then either people have become more self-centered (and stupid) or we’re just getting the ‘benefit" of a lot more of the dumb outliers. (Or is that outliars?). Probably some of both. I wish I knew a good answer, because it’s a problem that’s definitely in need of one.

It’s sad that anyone has to learn a lesson in such a hard way.

Sadder still… the innocents he infected before going symptomatic… or after, since so many deny the disease up to their last breath.

Your right to swing your fist ends where it hits my face. Or, to put it in modern terms, your right to spew your viruses ends where it meets other people.

If the mask-refusers were only putting themselves at risk, I would say Godspeed and good luck. But they are not. They are NOT entitled to put OTHERS at risk. Perhaps we should start indicting mask-refuseniks for attempted murder, or at least negligent homicide…

I like to drink alcohol. I don’t like beer much, but a good dark rum suits me just fine. And sometimes I drink too much, but I still need to be somewhere, and I like to drive. I can’t believe there are laws against that. I’m a good driver. Besides, if I want to risk my life and my car, that’s my business. The government shouldn’t be able to tell me what I can and cannot do.

What’s that you say? Other people could lose lives and property? Oh, you snowflake. Those statistics are over-rated. They can’t be trusted. It’s all a hoax.

How many here noticed the news about the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church?

He attended the open-casket funeral of his Montenegran counterpart, who died of covid-19. No masks. Soon thereafter, he himself died of covid-19.

I guess God didn’t protect them from the virus.

Honestly. I harbor no grudges towards bill. He must have had a hard life.

Since he’s Catholic, I’ve included a link to a tweet by a vitriolic Catholic priest who is also a “journalist” (I use the term loosely) that was kicked out of the Vatican press corp who is encouraging people to not wear masks and “open the churches”. Comedian Jim Gaffigan brings him down a peg, which is nice!
