GEORGIA UPDATE * VP Pence helping Sen. Perdue & Sen. Loeffler to get re-elected. No masks. Sen. Loeffler had one positive test for Covid-19 and two of her aids tested positive recently. She will not be on the campaign trail for a while. Sen. Perdue evidently won’t debate his opponent. If both lose the Democrats will be in control of The Senate with VP Harris deciding any voting tie.

Gavin Newsom has been taken to task for breaking his own rules. Fine. Meanwhile. At least those rules are saving lives. Those who refuse to set those rules are responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands. If we didn’t have such a patchwork of guidelines and instead had some unified mandates, we would have far fewer dead, and we’d be much further along the way toward a safe Re-opening.

It is, however, good to see the president has made time to enjoy the good weather on the golf course . . . wouldn’t want him over-fatigued fighting this killer virus, would we?

It was supposed to go away Nov. 4th, wasn’t it? Heck, a bar&grill on Emerson Ave, in Beech Grove, even had that on its sign!

(What’s that Varvie, Indiana is now averaging 7,000 new cases per day?)

Exactly how stupid does somebody have to be to confuse “guidelines” with “laws”? Truly amazing.

I believe Gavin Newsom has admitted he erred.. too bad those on the other side can’t do the same. But, Republicans are know for their double standards and love to point fingers.

Perhaps Republican Varvel should have drawn this:

“I’m in here because I downplayed the virus, calling it a hoax when I knew better and a family member died”.

“Who do you think you are, Donald Trump?”

A quarter of a million Americans have died due to Trump’s incompetence. Over 10 million have been infected.

Being required to wear a mask is bad, but I really object to the requirement that I display a license plate on the ass end of my Subaru.

Oh mister Varvel, how about a cartoon pointing out McEnany’s announcement yesterday that Trump wasn’t given support for his transition in 2016, and that “no Democrat called for unity and supporting the new president”. I guess that in Varvel’s world, republicans get as many free passes as they want.

I find it amusing that, when a Democrat does something foolish (i.e., Pelosi, Newsome, etc.), commenters try to deflect by trying to shame the cartoonist who dared to point out how hypocritical they were. Newsome is the governor of California, and he has chastised people for not doing what they should to help prevent the spread of COVID. He’s supposed to be a role model in that respect, so it makes it worse that he did this, and he should be taken to task for it. And no, I’m not a Republican, and yes, I’m still appalled at Trump’s handling of all this.

If anyone should be arrested for too many guests, it would of course be Trump for having super spreader events. But no one is being arrested for stupidity yet (luckily for Gary)

How many other names could the cellmate have guessed who would have been equally if not more appropriate? Not to excuse Gov. Newsom, but at least he wears a mask part of the time, and recommends its use.

I believe in listening to both sides, so I listen to Fox and CNN every other night. Varvel is my “token” conservative cartoonist, but I’m tired of his “meanness.” Anybody know another one who is more responsible in their conservative viewpoint. I expect to disagree with them, but want a better attitude.
