Even before he was inaugurated, Trump was preaching hate, bigotry and dissention, which the Democrats have been fighting all along, trying to bring us together. The Democrats are still trying, and the republicans are still fighting unity.
Yes. Impeachment (and some actual accountability) would have united the country under a banner of any number of things: Reality, the importance of upholding the Rule of Law, Sanity, Morality, Honor, Decency, etc.
And while he was eventually impeached for one of his myriad crimes, the Senate still failed in their duty to put the country and the American people before self-interests and fire the criminal con-man.
Now that said con-man has lost the election, it is indeed time for unity.
In the real universe, Trump was impeached and protected by Republicans, and when he was acquitted, he showed the world exactly why he was impeached in the first place. Goodwyn’s Law is in effect here, once again.

Meanwhile in Trumpworld, Hypocrisy reigns supreme.
Trump is not the world, despite his personal perceptions of himself. Being against him does not equate to a lack of unity. It equates to a measure of sanity in the midst of disunity.
When the President breaks the law, as Trump did, Congress is right to impeach him. The Senate chose to keep a law breaker in office, although the President is not above the law.
Mr. Goodwyn, I was against impeachment, not because I thought Trump wasn’t guilty, but because Republicans said it would be DOA in the Senate, and why bother doing it if that’s the outcome? That’s exactly what the House GOP and Senate Dems did with Clinton, so both sides are guilty of the same thing as far as I am concerned, (I think both Bill and Trump should have been tossed, but I digress…)
Your cartoon suggests that the current round of disunity started with Dem calls for Trump’s impeachment, but this does not address the true drivers of the disunity, which were established well before 2016, in fact some of the same players today were players years ago… we need term limits…
Sad when people are so partisan that they refuse to try to reunite for the good of the country, instead supporting a failed presidency that preferred to serve itself instead of them…
Goodwyn you’re living in an alternate reality. Do you like it there? Are there no black or brown people? Does everyone have the same shape eyes that you do? And science is just some silly ideas from people who want to keep you from amassing money?
Try really hard to comprehend this Goodwyn. “Impeach” was an attack on Trump and his unacceptable behavior, NOT an attack on Republicans. The problem is… many Republicans backed Trump, and can’t comprehend that the Republicans are genuinely better off without him.
Yes, it is; but I understand how inconceivable not seeking vengeance is for Trump supporters. Trump literally called for treason trials of his political opponents and his supporters cheered. Of course, I could have it wrong. This might be just a simple matter of the lack of intelligence, so common to Trump supporters, to not see that impeachment has become moot.
Republicans did more to stop people from voting than they did to stop people from getting covid. The Public has the right to be outraged at this awful behavior by right wingers.
I was never in favor of impeachment. I simply wanted to wait for the next election so we could vote him out of office and we did. He’s lost the popular vote twice in a row. When will he get the message?
Funny, I seem to remember the Republicans screaming for impeachment of Obama for 8 years, and with not a single actual charge. Trump demanded Obama apologize to the American people and resign because one American died of Ebola.
Sorry Mr. Goodwyn, the impeachment was not an attempt at revenge by sore losers. The soon to be former President tried to leverage our foreign policy and withheld duly appropriated funds intended to assist our ally to rig our recent election to his advantage. His Republican toadies in the US Senate refused to do their duty to the Constitution. Unquestionably he should have been removed from office.

The Dems were angry because Trump disregarded the Constitution and the Republicans refused to enforce the Constitution.
Dems are still angry at the Republican Concentration Camps for Children and the murderous spread of covid that the republicans facilitated.
Republicans have turned their backs to America for the last 12 years.
Totally partisan cartoonists give their one sided view of their lies about reality.
