In defense of members of congress, they do work about 2.67 days out of each week during the year. So stick that in your hat!

And don’t forget all the other benefits: great health care coverage, great retirement plans, all sorts of recreational facilities free of charge, travel and housing allowances. The list goes on.

And when the economy tanks, they don’t suffer a wage cut.

I’m sure that the amount of pay and the benefits had no influence on a person who went into politics solely to try to help run the country for the greater good to the best of his ability, ignoring undue political pressures. (Hack-hack-cough. Sorry, I just choked on something.)

They get a lot more perks then free parking.

My plan:

Congressional representatives get paid 3 x the median* income, determined as follows:

1 x national median +

1 x their district’s median +

1 x the smaller of the nation and their district’s median

*Unemployed count as $0 and retirees count based on Soc. Sec.

Not to mention all those quids they get for a few pros.

and all the graft they want…….

One of the greatest perks they have is, they can give themselves raises.

And taxpayer subsidized health insurance. And lobbyists and special interest groups throwing money at them not wanting anything in return.

they should be made to pay for parking, at the least
