I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Biden/Harris are truly the light at the end of the tunnel and that the hard work of rebuilding our nation won’t be stymied by Moscow Mitch and his cronies. McTurtle and his death cult should be evicted from the hill as soon as possible. So that should be our next priority. We can work towards getting forward-looking lawmakers instead of grim reapers_ to rebuild THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. We have learned about the damage that can be done to an outstanding presidential agenda by a destructive obstructionist congress. Biden knows that lesson and it’s probably one of the first things that needs to be remedied.

Imagine an administration filled with competent, honest men and women! Wait—is that even possible now? IS there an “administration”?

I’m pinning all my hopes that Biden/Harris can navigate the choppy waters and scum left behind by the dRumpth’s malevolence. The biggest battles are still to be faced because the orange buffoon will try to burn it all down just for spite. Stand firm, everyone. Stand together. Give Biden/Harris all the help and support that will be needed to overcome the landmines and difficulties ahead.

I have worn myself out with happiness since it was official. I feel happy, joyful for the first time in 4 years. To live in dread, despair all of the time is not healthy for America and its people. Perhaps my nightmares will cease as well. Today should be declared a national holiday for ever more to celebrate our survival. America is saved.

All the votes haven’t been counted. I am assuming that the combined number of electoral votes of the remaining states will not come close to what Biden has at 179.

“They stood up, and then they both stared in wonder. Away to their left, southward, against a sky that was turning grey, the peaks and high ridges of the great range began to appear dark and black, visible shapes. Light was growing behind them. Slowly it crept towards the North. There was battle far above in the high spaces of the air. The billowing clouds of Mordor were being driven back, their edges tattering as a wind out of the living world came up and swept the fumes and smokes towards the dark land of their home. Under the lifting skirts of the dreary canopy dim light leaked into Mordor like pale morning through the grimed window of a prison.

“’Look at that, Mr. Frodo!’ said Sam. ‘Look at it! The wind’s changed. Something’s happening. He’s not having it all his own way. His darkness is breaking up out in the world there. I wish I could see what’s going on!’

“It was the morning of the fifteenth of March, and over the vale of Anduin the Sun was rising above the eastern shadow, and the southwest wind was blowing. Théoden lay dying on the Pelennor Fields.

“”As Frodo and Sam stood and gazed, the rim of light spread all along the line of the Ephel Dúath, and then they saw a shape, moving at a great speed out of the West, at first only a black speck against the glimmering strip above the mountain tops, but growing, until it plunged like a bolt into the dark canopy and passed high above them. As it went it sent out a long shrill cry, the cry of a Nazgúl; but this cry no longer held any terror for them: it was a cry of woe and dismay, ill tidings for the Dark Tower. The Lord of the Ringwraiths had med his doom.”

From The Land of Shadow, chapter two, The Return of the King, by J. R. R. Tolkien. As @wirepunchr stated, this is the first step.

I posted this on Signe Wilkinson’s cartoon too. I’ve been singing this song since the announcement yesterday. No new lyrics needed, just the perfect sentiment from Johnny Nash. And yes, I know everything’s not quite so simple, but please don’t harsh my mellow today… ;-)

“I can see clearly now the rain is gone

I can see all obstacles in my way

Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind

It’s gonna be a bright (bright)

    Bright (bright) sunshiny day

Oh, yes I can make it now the pain is gone

All of the bad feelings have disappeared

Here is that rainbow I’ve been praying for

It’s gonna be a bright (bright)

    Bright (bright) sunshiny day

Look all around, there’s nothing but blue skies

Look straight ahead, there’s nothing but blue skies

I can see clearly now the rain is gone

I can see all obstacles in my way

Here is that rainbow I’ve been praying for

It’s gonna be a bright (bright)

    Bright (bright) sunshiny day

It’s gonna be a bright (bright)

    Bright (bright) sunshiny day

    Bright (bright) bright (bright)

    Bright sunshiny day

It’s going to be a bright (bright)

    Bright (bright) sunshiny day!"

Not exactly Plato’s cave, but there certainly are a lot of shadowy things to deal with.
