well, call me a caveman too, Earl, for I also don’t have any bars of soap at kitchen sink, bathroom sink, or even in the shower (I only bring a bar of soap when I’m traveling… like New Jersey last month visiting my older brother’s family and staying there)

If you guys had to clean up the slimy soap residue from every spot it rests, you’d switch to liquid soap in a bottle, too.

I’d rather have the bar of soap when I take a shower than the liquid soap!

Happy Turkey Day ! … Like to use “Dawn” for hand washing. That stuff takes care of most needs. Soap is like toilet paper… don’t care what kind as long as it’s there :-)

My lovely wife has put up with a jug of Fast Orange beside the vanity for 30 years without complaint. She even uses it occasionally.

I love liquid soap. I love how it slides off the palm of my hand and down the drain before I get a chance to suds up and I have to go back for more. I’m going back to bar soap.

Fels Naptha…Now, there’s a soap! Brown and reminds me of my Granma, she used it to spot clean laundry. I still have it in the house. Just the scent of it, throws me back to my youth.

I stopped using bar soap years ago. It’s too messy, and when I used it to bath, it made my skin feel dry. I use foam hand soap, and body wash to shower. I use gojo in a pump, or squeeze dispenser to clean my hands if I’ve been working on something, and they are greasy.

I love bar soap! I have it in all the bathrooms and kitchen. However, the kids like the liquid soap so I have that too….

Bar soap is fine in a household of one. Liquid soap from a dispenser is more sanitary in a multiple person household. Anyone using Lava soap undoubtedly works with car engines, because both bar AND liquid soap are poorly equipped to face the automotive grease challenge.

I use the same bar of soap to wash my hair with as the rest of my body. Been doing it for decades and no problems. It turns out the same if I use shampoo and conditioner. That’s the secret folks…..just use regular bar soap….all the other silly stuff is just marketing and a money making scam.

A few months ago, when liquid soap was difficult to find, I started using Dawn instead. I love it and don’t think I will ever go back.

Yes, Earl, it does. So why not embrace it and own it, and take your buddy down to the good old-fashioned bar on the corner for a pint of cave beer? You’ve earned it.

I prefer bar soap because it costs less per use, comes usually wrapped in paper rather than a plastic jog, and so doesn’t end up in the ocean floating for the next few thousand years.

NO jog. Jug. Bottle. Container. I try to bring as few things into my house that are made of plastic as possible.

Volunteer to clean the soap scum off the sink and you can have bar soap back again.

I’m not a caveman (for one, I’m a woman). I buy bar soap because it’s cheaper and I’m on a fixed income and climbing ever so slowly out of debt. If I ever decide that I have to have liquid soap – I can make it out of bar soap!

Also, that residue on the shower walls? That’s more from hard water here in Florida than anything else.

My problem with bar soap is clumsiness, especially in the shower. I hate having to keep picking it up when I drop it.
