Remember when Dan Quayle made a speech in Latin America and apologised that he couldn’t address them in their native tongue because he hadn’t learned Latin?

Like a lot of things being taught today, not appropriate.

Spiro was a crook who resigned to avoid prosecution.

Dan was just a simpering idiot.

How do you expect these kids to recognize these names? They can’t tell you the name of a street ½ mile from their own.

What nobody remember Arron Burr, Millard Fillmore, or everybody’s favorite whipping boy Richard Nixon???

Agnew was involved in corrupt business interests. Quayle would have been caught too soon.

At one time I had a Spiro Agnew watch, wish I had it back.

Ag*ew was corrupt from his first day in elected office until the very end. He got lucky in that Ni*on was neck deep in Watergate and he was allowed to plead “Nolo Contendre” and resign, keeping his pensions and not spending a day in jail. If Ni*on had been impeached and removed at the same time Ag*ew was on trial we would have had a real problem. If you have not yet done so, I highly recommend the podcast “Bag Man” written and presented by Rachel Maddow.

The Latin America story was not true. The potato/spelling bee story was. Quayle was if fact dumber than a box of rocks (still is, perhaps.)

Spiro was the worse Veep because Dan Q was never a veep. His ticket lost to Bill Clinton

Or that he would “lead an effective strategy to mobilize trunalimunumapzure.”?

Or that “poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids,” ?

And of course, “Four more years of George, uh, George, uh, he, uh, we’re going to find ourselves in a position where if, uh…"

Followed by the unforgettable, : “Cause if you could take care, if you were a quartermaster, you can sure in hell take care runnin’ a, you know, a department store uh, thing, you know, where, in the second floor of the ladies department or whatever, you know what I mean?”
