Laugh all you want. Our judge moved court from Thursdays to Tuesdays, and I asked him why. He said he got tired of seeing people he had sent to the county jail out on Saturday when he sentenced them to a week. Apparently WEEKENDS count as double time served, so if they went in on Thursday, they got out Saturday at 12:01 am with time served. At least on Tuesday they got a couple more days in the slammer.
