• 1929 economic crash

• 1942 concentration camps (for babies w/o parents)

• 1968 civil unrest

And some new innovations:

— unprecedented record climate-driven multi-state wildfires

— record climate-driven frequency and severity of hurricanes

— murder hornets

— national coin shortage (really?)

— large scale unprecedented migratory bird die-off

— death of nation’s top civil rights icon (John Lewis)

— death of the first “rock star” Supreme Court justice icon and pending replacement by a character straight outta “The Handmaid’s Tale.”

If the Democrats win effective control of our federal government this November, will this do something to prevent/reverse the erosion of our constitutional democratic republic at the hands of the authoritarians?

Another year with idjits STILL trying to tell us that there’s no such thing as climate change. And even if there were, it’s totally natural, so humans cannot possibly fix it.

It’s still true that it’s too late to avoid the first of the effects, but not too late to avoid the WORST of the effects. But we have to keep plugging away at it, day after day, month after month. Not unlike the folks who are going to live through the pandemic.

Hmm.

Looking like a record year for voting though, so hopefully we can start putting on the brakes.
