If they could, they’d epoxy the right side to the table so that there’d be no way it could be balanced.

Conservatives wanted it broken and they broke it. Can’t have a proper oligarchic theocracy with all that silly Democratic and Republican crap (principles) in the way.

I’m disappointed in the Republicans as I used to perceive them. The Republicans had a chance in 2016 to nominate a conservative statesman, a man or woman with character and an understanding of decency, as exasperating and unfair as some conservative politics can be.

But they allowed this freak show to continue, previewed by his campaign; they actually nominated and allowed the Electoral College to install Donald Trump into our nation’s White House. And now look at the country, and the world. Look at what this man has done. And still there are tens of millions of voters who will check his name on the ballot.

The Supreme Court push was predictable coming from him, but for other Republicans to ignore precedent and continue that push for her to dislodge any sense of justice and fairness, proudly as she states, is one of the most reprehensible things I’ve seen done by that party over several decades of my life.

Whatever the purpose of those scales, Justice needs to be removed from the base. Because justice ain’t what we currently have in our government. )<:|

The main function of the Supreme Court is to make sure that the original rules spelled out in the Constitution are followed by the Federal and State governments, while responding to changes in the world since then both technological and social. To do that job correctly the Court should, On Balance, tend to lean slightly to the conservative side but only by the true meaning of that word, to keep things as they are. The Court should not be monolithic, but have a range of philosophical approaches and legal specialties with the later based on extensive experience, Philosophical extremes can be acceptable so long as they are very much in the minority, some issues can benefit from a contrarian view. The latest addition to our Court is a problem for two reasons. First, she is Not qualified. She is on her way, but does not yet have the experience level needed. Second, she is Not a Conservative. She is a theocratic Regressive. To a degree so was Scalia, but he was “balanced” by Ginsberg. Now the balance is gone.

Superposition, Oh, about 75 years ago the first urgings of a racist-plutocratic state began to organize itself with the founding of the John Birch Society by Fred Koch, Robert Welch. They’ve had several false starts when Thurmond, G. Wallace and Pat Buchannan ran for POTUS. I can only guess that they could hardly believe their good luck 4 years ago when a blowhard huckster became their light at the end of their tunnel.

“The Democrats want to pack the court” after the Republicans blocked a legal nominee and now have a 6 to 3 packed court in their favor. The last two were not even up to the level of jurisprudence experience were shoved into it for ideological and political reasons only by the Republicans.

The republicans are so concerned with their agenda that they don’t see the contradiction of being against abortion while also being against the affordable care act. In other words, bring them into the world but after they’re here they’re on their own.
