In August 21, 1987, Cheech Marin released a song called “Born in East LA” about a US citizen caught up in an immigration sweep and sent to Mexico. It was suppose to be a satire.

In June 25, 2020 the conservatives on the Supreme Court approved of Trump’s plan for rapid deportation of undocumented immigrants. Six days ago ICE started implementing those plans. If an ICE agent thinks that you are an undocumented immigrant they can rapidly deport you without ever having a trial even if you are a US citizen.

Remember those war world 2 movies where the evil Nazis would ask “Show me your papers?” That’s what we have become.
