Of course we have to transition away from oil. Quickly.

We need to transition away from fossil fuels, Mike. Once again, you’re neglecting the facts. Why do you like to neglect facts, Mike? What is it about reality as it is that bothers you so much that you have to distort things so often? Do the facts scare you? Are they inconvenient? Or are you simply living in a fact free zone established by a psychopathic malignant narcissist cult leader? How do you make your way in the world? Do you lie to your wife and kids? Do you teach your kids to lie? What is it about the lies that make them so attractive to you?

Gee Mike, a candidate speaks simple truth, and you try to twist it into a lie. You seem to think that ideas are set in stone and must never be changed.

Do you think that trying to “transition away from oil” is not good?

It is becoming embarrassing to watch Mr. Lester make such a fool of himself for all to see again and again. But then I feel the same way about Mr. Trump making a public fool of himself for the whole world to see.

“The man doesn’t have a clue on what he is talking about,” Former Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn tweeted, calling Trump’s remark reckless and irresponsible.

Look around, the transition away from oil and more importantly coal started years ago. We have to do this no matter how much it scares people who can’t handle change.

For crying out loud, do some research. ExxonMobil and Shell are making huge efforts internally to get out of fossil fuels, or at least the fuel bit, for reasons of climate change. Also, oil, like coal, is a tremendously valuable raw material to make everything from polymers to carbon fibers to pharmaceuticals. Burning it is the last thing you want to do with it.

So who is likely to be upset about this? Mostly Trump supporters when they find it’s another non-issue.

Lester loves Trump, His Messiah, because he means what he says!

    ===

“I have fully authorized the total Declassification of any [and] all documents pertaining to the single greatest political CRIME in American History, the Russia Hoax. Likewise, the Hillary Clinton Email Scandal. No redactions!”

    .

    Filed in court:

When President Donald Trump tweeted that he had authorized the full declassification of all the documents having to do with the Russia investigation, he didn’t mean it literally and didn’t intend to make public information from the Mueller investigation, White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said in a court filing Tuesday.

Contradicting the plain text of what Trump published for the world to see, Meadows said in a sworn court statement, “The president indicated to me that his statements on Twitter were not self-executing declassification orders and do not require the declassification or release of any particular documents.”

I would transition away from oil. That’s a completely rational and responsible thing to do. What’s the problem?

Biden’s trying to balance between undecided pro-petro people and folks who really don’t want the current administration but also understand climate change issues. Naturally, he comes across as torn: He is  torn.

As others have surely said, petro-energy must soon shrink away purely from the economics. Biden’s apparent waffling contains, at its core, a genuine desire to help folks including those who will need to retrain for greener jobs.

PS: Some of us are wise enough (it’s a low bar) to realize that our opinions about things need to change in the light of new data. Lester appears to be channeling the ones who aren’t.

You can reduce fossil fuels to some extent, but most of the things used to do so are made from petroleum products or are created by using them. Everything from the metals we use to the plastics, lumber, etc. has a direct link to the use of petroleum. Unless you are willing to go back to the early 1800s there is no way to produce what we need to go on as a society.

Biden doesn’t mind getting a pass because of his “Sleepy Uncle Joe” persona, until it begins to seriously affect the public’s perception of his ability to be presidential. Like right now.

Thank dog we went solar in 2015 with the re-roofing. Home battery units, PHEV SUV and a Prius plug-in and a full BEV next spring to replace the Prius. The meter runs backwards on long sunny days and during the winter nights the batteries take over.

Li’l Mikey Lester is very upset, since moving away from a dependence on fossil fuels will hurt Russia and Middle Eastern countries and help the United States.

Mike Lester hates facing reality, like the reality that all of us on earth need to transition away from oil. But I guess that’s the same as saying “Mike Lester is a conservative.”

ANYthing that involves a long view puts Republicans on tilt, the complications of such processes being too overwhelming to contemplate.

Mike, How is it that you attract all these headless commenters so close to Halloween? And labor day, Christmas, and all other days with a vowel in them? Maybe they are bots. Blue bottle bots. Attracted By the wry sense of justice you imply. Nearly every comment is negative. All you get are cathode commenters. Well I appreciate your art and humor. Why would the NWO send so many insects to demean a cartoonist? Even that is a form of funny, I guess.
