Doctors’ surgeries always think everything is urgent.

To get the result of a test, or to get a reminder that his yearly checkup is overdue?

They never give up on trying to get me to schedule a colonoscopy. I expect their next step to be sending a couple of goons to my door armed with an iPhone on a selfie stick.

when it’s urgent it’s usually about the doctors money. Been there lately for something your health plan doesn’t cover?

Bub’s blood pressure is up or his blood glucose level is too high. When people ditch their landline they forget up have contact details updated with those who should have it, like family and doctors.

The doctors’ surgeries around here get grumpy if you only give them a landline. They absolutely must have your mobile number.

I have a doctor who only calls my landline. I don’t know why.

    A couple of obvious solutions:

    1) Arrange for your old landline number to be transferred to your cell phone. (Obviously less suitable if everyone knows your cell number.)

    2) Keep paying for your landline for an extra month, and change your voicemail message to “This number will be inoperative after . Please call me at .”
