I guess the superintendent did close the schools because of snow (or it’s Saturday).

hmmmmm. first they were on fire and now they are covered in snow

Maybe they were. But then again, maybe not.

Did they learn how to swim or was the pond really shallow?

That will happen when there is a fuel propellant strapped on by the undiscovered genius.

So the sled is in the pond? Does Calvin have a spare?

Well, if the sled was on fire, the pond wouldn’t stay frozen for long…

Growing up in Illinois, we had two sledding choices: the field with a barbed wire fence at the bottom, or the path in the woods with trees to dodge and a crick at the end.

No one can accuse Calvin of not living life to its fullest.

“I never before have seen a sled catch fire.”

Funny how “exciting” and “inconvenient” so often go together.

The joys of childhood…clothes all wet…snow jammed everywhere. Pure bliss.

It’s one of those “best left to the imagination” kind of situations.

Wow, how could the sled catch fire from going down a snowy hill? Crazy!

Imagine when Calvin’s mother asks why he has a sled on his list for Santa this Christmas.

Burning sleds? Okay.

Freezing lakes? Okay.

Math? Aaarrg!

That means they DID had all the fun, the sledge catch fire due to speed and crashing, then both were thrown into the pond. That makes a perfect adventure. No wonder this explorer six year old despise school.
