Sometimes political cartoons engage in visual hyperbole to get the point across.
I’m glad to see that R. Rogers doesn’t need to use that tool. This is, if anything, understated when compared to the reality we all watched last Tuesday!
Trump’s debate tactic is a dumpster fire of garbage with him banging on it while shouting lies which have been debunked years previously. He’s lied about so many things, he can no longer find an original lie.
A meme currently making the rounds is a simple picture of the dictionary entry for “trumpery”, which I will render here in text form, since GoComics doesn’t allow graphics:
trump´ẽr·y,n.; pl.trump´ẽr·ies, [Fr. tromperie, from tromper, to deceive, cheat.]
1. deceit; fraud. [Obs.]
2. anything calculated to deceive by false show; anything externally splendid but intrinsically of little value; worthless finery.
3. things worn out and of no value; useless matter; trifles; rubbish; nonsense.
This idolatrous trumpery and superstition. —South.
trump´ẽr·y,a. trifling; showy but worthless; trashy; paltry.
I don’t respect people who blame both trump and Biden in the same manner. trump deliberately put all his energy into throwing Biden off, and when Biden used terms like “shut up” or “clown”, he was criticized. If anyone spent 90 minutes working to throw me off, I would have used a lot spicier retorts.
Donald Trump has announced that he and the First Lady are beginning their quarantine “process” after he was exposed to the covid-19 virus during travels this week on Airforce One and Marine One with just diagnosed presidential aide Hope Hicks.
This comic turns out to be very prescient now. Donald and Melania Trump have both tested positive for COVID-19. I would not be surprised if by Monday it turns out most of the Trump clan and most of the White House staff and administration turn up with positive tests. I just wonder how any of those will be because they actually do have the virus or just because they want to show their support.
Angry, amoral, belligerent, deranged, deluded, irrational, and vindictive are not attributes you want to see in a guy who’s in control of nuclear weapons.

Put the dumpster in a train wreck on a sinking ship and it would be closer.

The dumpster looks like a very good playpen for the poor mistreated fella.

I think it was Jake Tapper who said the “debate” was a hot mess inside a dumpster fire inside a train wreck.

The first question to Trump should have been, “Who do you owe $421,000,000 to?”

It’s astonishing how many separate people have come up with the term “dumpster fire” to describe that debate. Shows how perfectly descriptive it is.
