The problem with trying to tighten the ear piece screws on your glasses is that you have to take the glasses off and then you can no longer see the screws, or even the tiny little screwdriver.
Time for the Optical Earl. For me took 50 years to figure out be my nose pads that need adjusted closer, Optical tech never did that only the ear piece. Now I have no issue with glasses sliding down.
I’ve found that a cup of coffee tightens the screw for me. Sometimes two cups of coffee first thing in the morning. Otherwise I walk around all day a little screwy.
My (late) MIL,(whom I miss very much) who had Alzheimer’s at the time, was told by the ER doc after looking at an x-ray of her shoulder, said “Mrs. H, you have a screw loose”. I busted a gut because she did have a screw come loose through the years from a previous operation.

I don’t have screw loose on my glasses, but how I prevent them from slipping off my honker is use one of those specific strings.

That’s what we say at band practice when someone messes up: “You’re a beat off. (pause) In the music, too.”

The nice way to say it is by reversing ‘screw’ and ‘loose’.

I don’t know about other places, but Walmart Vision Center offers free glasses adjustments for just that sort of thing.
