But what do you think about a “peace plan” which ignores Palestine and Iran?

ANY peace plan without including the Palestinians is not a Mid East Peace plan at all – it is just a peace plan between two Middle Eastern countries.

Now the fact that the plan is allowing the various countries to recognize the existence of Israel is wonderful, but that DOES NOT make it a “Mid-East Peace Plan”, and shouldn’t be described as such!

Thought there was something fishy about that treaty. So I guess that meant there really was nothing about peace since all parties did not take part in it. Like us making peace with the Blackfoot tribes but ignore the Sioux tribes. Custer had fun with that one.

With Ginsburg’s death Mid-East peace has dropped in importance to Americans. It was just a grab for a Nobel anyway.

Here’s what the revered Thomas Friedman NYT saidhttps://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/15/opinion/trump-israel-bahrain-uae.html?referringSource=articleShareTruncated version belowHaving covered Arab-Israel diplomacy for more than 40 years, I have to say that the normalization agreements signed Tuesday between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and Israel and Bahrain came about in a most unusual — but incredibly revealing — fashion.I can best explain it with a soap opera analogy: It is as if Jared Kushner was a lawyer who set out to arrange a divorce between a couple, “Mrs. Israel” and “Mr. Palestine.” In the process, though, Mr. Kushner discovered that Mrs. Israel and Mr. Palestine were so incompatible that they couldn’t even sit in a room together, let alone agree on his plan for separation. But along the way, Mr. Kushner discovered something intriguing: Mrs. Israel was having an affair with Mr. Emirates, who was fleeing an abusive relationship with Ms. Iran. So, Mr. Kushner stopped trying to arrange a divorce between Mr. Palestine and Mrs. Israel and seized instead on the mutual interest of Mrs. Israel and Mr. Emirates to marry — not to mention the self-interest of President Trump to serve as the “justice of the peace” who would officiate on the White House lawn in the midst of a presidential campaign.

Cut to commercial. The fact that the normalization of Israel-Emirates and Israel-Bahrain relations was actually set in motion because of the failure, thus far, of the Trump administration’s Israeli-Palestinian diplomacy does not diminish its significance, even if it adds a dollop of irony to our story. My rule: In the Middle East, you get big change when the big players do the right things for the wrong reasons. And this is the right thing. Egypt and Jordan each made peace with Israel to end their state of war, but trade, tourism and mutual investments have been limited. Israel and the Emirates and Israel and Bahrain are normalizing their relations because

Considering that wars and rumors of wars have been going on for Millenia in the Middle East, why should anyone think this current “peace” will last more that a few weeks or months?

This peace deal benefits Netanyahu, not the Palestinians. It’s merely a trade agreement with some other anti-Iranian Arab countries. They have laid aside their theology and made a pact with their banks. The fact that the Palestinians condemn the plan is not surprising in as much as they were given no part in it. Dump, and Natty, will no doubt play up this agreement making them seem like Nobel winners when in fact only their pockets will truly benefit. $-1, Peace-0.

I liked the headline. Trump hasn’t had a positive headline in months. As long as you don’t read the article, it sounds like he actually accomplished something worthwhile. That should give some undecided voters ( an endangered species) a reason to lean right, which was the whole point in the first place.

All Donald’s BS. You can’t have a “peace” treaty if the parties weren’t in conflict. Bahrain already houses the US 5th Fleet!

In the beginning and its been downhill for the Middle East since then. I have more hope that the Afghans will become a peaceful, prosperous country with universal respect for all its citizens. America? I’ll reserve judgement on that.

Like rival gangs joining to defeat another, it can hardly be called a peace deal.

It is nothing more than a re-election ploy and attempt for a Nobel. tRump, represented by Jared, bribed UAE and Bahrain with huge weapons deals. UAE expects to get F35 Fighters. That would be illegal.

The Saudis are key to the Middle East. And they aren’t budging.

There will be no peace anywhere as long as the only decent paying jobs in Amerika are the Military-Industrial-Congressional murder machine.

The only comment here that comes remotely close to being accurate is by #Rad-ish What is happening here is the beginning of a coalition of Israel, the US and Arab states to oppose Iran. Most of the countries in the region are terrified of Iran. Iran is exporting terror, supporting dissidents and arming forces opposed to sitting governments.

The leaders in the region are finally waking up to the understanding that they must unite against Iran, not Israel.

Many of you scoff at the first movement in almost 30 years. You scoff because Trump’s name is attached to it. The fact remains that 2 Arab states have normalized relations with the nation they fought wars against and refused to even recognize. Had ANY other POTUS been instrumental in this you would be singing hosannas.

Trump is obligated to the Fundamentalist Evangelicals who want War in the Middle East because Jeebus cannot come back to “Rapture” them into Heaven until after the Middle East goes up in flames.
