Roughly, a century ago, we had a similar time where the fat cats ruled and the middle and poor classes were trodden under. That was the time of the Vanderbilts where power barons amassed great wealth on the backs of the rest of the population. This is the world of the present day Repubs and Trumplicons. But, in that time, the Repub leadership were led by progressives like Theodore Roosevelt. The Roosevelts, though also a family of great wealth and power, were taught to have concern for the downtrodden of society. The leadership in Congress of that time saw the need for tax reform and corporate reigning in. The progressive tax code helped level the playing field and led the nation to far greater general prosperity. We need that kind of leadership today. The Biden/Harris ticket will lead us closer toward that end and may even spur a second resurgence of progressive legislation to save this nation. One thing is for certain, more of the same with Trump/Pence will doom our society and nation.
If you want to get out of the stew pot, stop voting for republicans who give all of the tax dollars to their rich friends. They don’t care if you live or die, Trump wants the blue states to die.

And it’s getting worse. COVID-19 has been devastating to the vast majority of Americans, and the less money you have, the worse you are hit. Meanwhile, many in the top one-tenth-of-one-percent have INCREASED in value.
You know what? All these rump supporters scream about their constitutional rights, but forget what the constitution is supposed to REALLY be about. “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare…” Where does the orange cheeto do any of that?
