Considering that in most theaters one of those big cups costs as much as full dinner at many sushi places, his request for a refill is not all that unreasonable

Considering that movie theaters make their money from the concession stand, I don’t expect any free items.

One would think that at $6.00 a pop (get it?), a free refill would be a reasonable request. However, as julie.mason1 already stated, the big money is in concessions. I heard a theater manager quoted as saying he thinks of his establishment as a concession stand, that also happens to show movies on the side.

I wonder if this scenario is why many movie theaters don’t let you put your own butter flavored oil on your popcorn.

Our local (small, historic) theater is closed for covid reasons. But on their marquee, they offer popcorn as take-out. Apparently so you can go home and watch a movie on the small screen and have that theater-popcorn experience. Anything to keep the capital investments productive!!!
